Supporting Our Community

Dr. Susan Morphis, owner of Willow Grove Animal Clinic, began her veterinary career here in Farmville. After purchasing the clinic, she planted her roots in this community, raising her family and caring for generations of pets over the past thirty years. Today, Willow Grove is proud to partner with local organizations and support causes that strengthen the place we all call home. Because at Willow Grove, our community has had our back, and we have theirs.

Our clinic has partnered with Pitt County Schools and their Future Farmers of America (FFA) program to support students interested in animal health and veterinary medicine.

We have hosted groups of FFA students from several Pitt County schools. Students spent the day at Willow Grove Animal Clinic, observed our team in action, learned more about veterinary care, and had the chance to ask questions during their field trip.

We’re proud to encourage the next generation of animal caregivers and community leaders.

We are proud to partner with Scarlet Oak Farms, a nonprofit hound rescue founded in 2018 by local animal advocates in Ayden, NC. Scarlet Oak Farms was created to respond to the overwhelming number of stray and relinquished animals in our area, with a special focus on saving hounds at risk of euthanasia in local shelters.

Through a network of volunteers, veterinarians, and donors, Scarlet Oak Farms provides a safe haven, food, shelter, and lifelong veterinary care for more than 40 hounds. Unlike many rescues, Scarlet Oak Farms does not rehome their dogs; instead, every hound that arrives there is given a permanent home where they can live out their lives with dignity and care.

At Willow Grove, we support their mission by providing high-quality veterinary care at a reduced cost, helping ensure each dog receives the medical attention and compassion they deserve. We are proud to stand alongside Scarlet Oak Farms in their commitment to animal welfare in Pitt, Craven, and Beaufort Counties.

Donations to Local Institutions

We are proud to support local organizations through donations and raffle baskets. From the Farmville Public Library to community fundraisers and rescue groups, we’re committed to giving back to the places and programs that strengthen our community.

I've been taking my dog, Skeeter, to Willow Grove to get treated for heartworms and hookworms, and they have taken great care of him and me! He is a shy dog, but they treat him as well as they possibly can and make him as comfortable as they can. Dr. Susan is a great veterinarian!
